The RIKON 18-Inch Bandsaw is driven by a 2-1/2-horsepower, 220-volt motor that functions smoothly and powerfully. And thanks to its 12-inch re-saw capacity, you can easily re-saw large pieces, slicing veneers and book-matched projects. Precision-balanced, solid cast iron wheels give the blade uniform operation. Additionally, the edge-facing thrust bearings and double-bearing blade guides help reduce friction, extend blade life, and improve stability.
Two Speeds for Different Cutting Applications
With a 12-inch cutting capacity and two speed settings, the RIKON 18-Inch Bandsaw can be used for a variety of applications. Easily switch between the 1,510-feet/minute and the 3,220-feet/minute setting with the belt-tensioning hand wheel.
Convenient Features Increase Functionality
A large 21-inch by 19-inch table provides plenty of additional work space during woodcutting operations. Supported by a solid cast trunnion for heavy work pieces, the table tilts 10 degrees to the left and 45 degrees to the right. A convenient tool storage cabinet at the bottom of the unit gives you a place to keep extra blades, jigs, or other tools.
Quick-Release Fence
An included rip fence helps you make straight cuts, and you can easily adjust for blade drift. A re-saw bar can also be attached to help correct any blade wandering during re-sawing operations.
Quick-Release Blades and Viewing Windows for Easy Adjustments
It's easy to assemble, operate, and adjust the RIKON 18-Inch Bandsaw with the helpful manual, blade selection guide, and wheel-adjustment tip sheet. Inset windows allow you to check the centering of the blade, as well as the tension of the blade, so you can keep your operation running smoothly and accurately. You can also help increase blade life by quickly releasing blade tension when changing blades or when the machine is off.
Dust Prevention to Keep Work Area Clean
The RIKON 18-Inch Bandsaw features a tire-cleaning brush that cleans the lower wheel as it spins, helping prevent sawdust buildup on the wheel and blade. Two 4-inch dust ports help you keep dust out of the air when you attach your dust collection system to the port opening.

Great band saw!! : RIKON 10-345 18-Inch Band Saw
I purchased this band saw about 3 years ago and it has performed very well for me. I originally bought the saw for resawing maple slabs from trees I had cut down but have used it to cut just about everything else as well since then.
When assembling the saw take the time (2-4 hours) to get everything adjusted correctly and square. The saw will perform better and you will be less frustrated later on. I have not had to make any adjustments since I originally put the saw together and I believe this is because of the amount of time I took to do it right from the start. It is still square and running as good as the day I bought it. The only issue I had with the saw was about 2 weeks after I got it the lower thrust bearing locking assembly failed. Customer service was great and I had a new part in a couple of days and haven't had any issues since then.
The saw has 2 speeds and more than enough horse power to easily handle blades up to 1 1/4". Very easy to adjust and changing blade takes about 10-15 minutes to get dialed in. But once it is adjusted you don't have to make any other adjustments until you change blade again. Resawing is easy and accurate. I have sliced stock as thin as 1/32" x 4" tall and the blade stays true when cutting. The max I have resawed was about 8" tall and I had no issues with it. The stock fence could be taller for resawing but it is a nice fence and is easy to adjust.
Overall I would highly recommend this saw. Just make sure you have the room for it, it's big and heavy (almost 400 lbs.) but is well worth the money if you need something with this kind of capacity.
